Spez Studio is a creative studio based in Lisbon, working across design, photography and creative direction for brands, culture and events. The studio is founded and led by Italian-Brazilian designer, photographer and creative director Thaís Espezin.

Thaís holds a degree in Design from UFSC in Brazil and was awarded a Science Without Borders scholarship to study Fashion at Politecnico di Milano, where she spent one year immersed in fashion, materials and creative processes. After returning to Brazil to complete her design degree, she specialized in traditional goldsmithing at Escola Sobri in Florianópolis, under the mentorship of Master Goldsmith João Sobri. This intensive training led her to found her first jewelry brand, working with metals and precious stones. Creating objects and visuals has been part of her life since childhood.

Political and social changes in Brazil led her back to Europe, where she took part in volunteer projects in London, Berlin and Warsaw, before settling in Portugal during the pandemic. In Lisbon, she completed a postgraduate degree in Photography and New Media at IADE and has since worked across design studios, social innovation cooperatives and as a freelance creative.

Thaís co-founded the first women-led skateboarding magazine in Portugal, where she was deeply involved in organizing, producing and documenting skate events, as well as creating content for social media, digital platforms and the printed magazine. Through this work, Spez Studio collaborated with major brands such as Vans, Monster, Red Bull, Element and others, connecting brands with communities through culture and experience.

Today, Spez Studio operates independently, focusing on projects and collaborations that align with its vision and values, including independent initiatives such as Ternura Supply, while working with brands and companies across culture, events and creative industries.

Whether organizing events, documenting movement or developing visual identities, the studio’s work is rooted in connection, presence and authenticity.
